Menu Design and Branding

Gracie's Broughty Ferry: Logo Design

Gracie’s, a beloved café nestled in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, underwent a transformation to transition from a daytime café to an upscale destination known for its speciality drinks and 'brinner' offerings.

In response to this evolution, I provided comprehensive brand development to match their new identity and enhance their customer experience.

Project Objective

The objective of this project was to reposition Gracie’s in Broughty Ferry as an upmarket café with a focus on speciality drinks and evening dining. With a desire to shift their image from a daytime café to a sophisticated yet relaxed establishment, Gracie’s sought a new brand identity to accompany their refurbishment and elevate their customer experience.

Design Strategy

In collaboration with Gracie’s, we developed a suite of logo and type marks using vintage-inspired fonts to capture the laid-back vibe of the café. These elements were complemented by a custom visual pattern and carefully curated colour palette, creating a cohesive and visually appealing brand identity. Our approach focused on maintaining visual consistency across all touchpoints, from menus to marketing materials, to ensure a seamless transition and reinforce Gracie’s new image as an upscale café destination in Broughty Ferry.
