Restaurant Branding and Menu Design
Simpsons is a boutique café nestled in downtown Dundee, celebrated for its home-grown, home-made food.
With the café undergoing renovations, I was commissioned to create a fresh brand identity that would resonate with both existing patrons and a broader audience, helping them feel even more connected to the café and drawing in new visitors.
Project Objective:
As a cherished family-owned café, the primary objective was to create a fresh brand identity that matched the refurbishment of their café. They wanted to bring in new customers who would love their unique café vibe and keep their regulars coming back. The family was eager to make sure the brand felt true to who they are, adding their own special touch to the brand's look and feel.
Design Strategy:
To achieve this, I devised a fluid identity system centred around an illustrative symbol that encapsulates the three generations of the Simpson family who run the café. The design embraced a muted, earthy colour palette and subtle typography to reflect the café's commitment to quality and tradition. In addition, we crafted a bespoke illustration of the family allotment, underscoring the café's dedication to natural produce and its roots in home-grown, homemade food.
