Visual Identity Design and Menu Design
St Andrews Bar & Grill is the Clubhouse restaurant located within the prestigious five-star Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews, set against the stunning backdrop of the Fife coast.
I developed a comprehensive brand identity for the restaurant, which was undergoing a transformation to introduce new menus and a fresh visual direction. The focus of the approach was to highlight the restaurant's commitment to high-quality food and elevate the overall dining experience through thoughtful and cohesive branding. This encompassed logo design, visual identity, and menu design to ensure consistency and sophistication across all touchpoints.
Project Objective
The objective was to create a brand identity that not only showcased the restaurant's new menus but also captured the essence of its unique coastal setting and the exceptional quality of seafood on offer. By connecting the landscape to the dining experience, the design needed to appeal to both the local community and tourists seeking an elevated and authentic seafood dining experience.
Design Strategy
To achieve this objective, I crafted a stylish and sophisticated brand identity, extending it across various touchpoints such as menus, marketing collateral, and signage. Embracing a minimalistic design ethos, I prioritised the use of high-quality materials. For instance, the menus were printed on Gmund paper made with spent brewer's grain, adding a unique and sustainable touch. Additionally, we commissioned bespoke distressed wooden signs, handmade by a local sign company, to enhance the restaurant's authentic and inviting atmosphere.
